The Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (GEARS) was formed in 2013 to help injured, abandoned, unwanted, and homeless animals in the Edmonton area. Compassion motivates us to help, heal, and alleviate the pain of the animals we encounter. GEARS is a non-profit organization that relies on donations and a network of volunteers and foster homes working together to give companion animals a second chance at their forever family. With high standards of practice and charitable status, GEARS sets an example in the community, for companion animal welfare and rescue.

Hi, I’m Coop! I’m generally a calm and quiet guy who loves a good cuddle. I like playing with my dog friends, and and hanging out with those quick moving things called cats isn’t too bad either.

I haven’t had the easiest time in care, and you might notice I’m a little bit wobbly. You see, I have seizures. The nice folks at GEARS have found a combination of meds that help me not to have big ones often. I still have small ones sometimes, but I’m usually ok right after!
