Tico – on hold for applications

Hi everyone, my name is Tico! My foster mom says I am very smart and by 10 weeks old I could sit, lay down, shake a paw, give a high five, sit pretty, roll over, and wait for my food until given permission. WHOA!! Now that’s a smart pupper! 😊

I am finally potty trained so the mop is getting a much needed rest. I am also fully crate trained now and will sleep 8 hours without a peep (but don’t forget to give me my toothbrush treat at bedtime, hee hee). I have two crates… one in the bedroom for night time sleeping only and another in the common living area where I love having my daytime naps.

I know I am not allowed on furniture but sometimes foster mom will let me up on the sofa with her to cuddle! If I get bored, I have been nibbling on things I shouldn’t, so my foster mom gives me some dog-friendly chew treats and toys to help me get through my teething stage.

I love car rides and am well behaved when travelling. I really like going for walks but I am still learning the proper walking etiquette on a leash. My favourite place is the off-leash puppy park and I have been hanging out with the big dogs, but I stay very close to my foster mom. I love playing fetch or tug of war with my toys! I also love kids but I am still a little rough at playing and I am working on not nipping at your feet and hands. I know it’s wrong but if you leave your shoes or slippers unattended I consider them fair play. I sometimes have puppy nightmares but my foster mom touches me gently and assures me that everything is okay.

I am looking for a place to call my forever home and people that I can call my forever family! If you have a backyard where I can burn off some energy, that would be ideal. Because I am still young, my new family will need to have patience to teach me the things I need to know to make me the best dog I can be! But my foster mom says that I already am.
