Rescue Story

Sissy’s momma was brought into GEARS’ care from a partner organization, very pregnant. After giving birth to Sissy and her siblings, and weaning them properly, they all went to loving foster homes. She is now ready to find her furever home!

My Bio

Woof woof! Hi there, my name is Sissy (my foster family calls me Missy), and I’m looking for my forever home. I have a sociable nature, making me a hit with everyone I meet. I have shared a lot of joy and love with my current foster family over the past few months and they only have positive things to say about me. Let me tell you a little bit about myself🤗.

I was born in foster care and I have grown to be a friendly and well-behaved pup who loves to play and cuddle. I’ve been told that I have excellent manners and always listen to commands. I am eager to learn and my foster family says I am a very smart puppy. I’m completely house trained, so you won’t have to worry about any accidents in the house. I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy going for long walks in the park. When off leash I stay close by and never stray and always come when called. I am not a dog that barks. I never bark at other dogs or people and when I am in the backyard, I am quiet. I can be vocal when I am playing or talking to my foster family.

I’m a good girl who loves to make new friends, whether they’re humans, dogs, or even cats! I’m very gentle and patient, especially with children, and I love being around people. I’m always up for a game of fetch or a good belly rub. My foster family supplies me with a toybox of all sorts of toys that I can chew to keep me busy. I love squeaky toys, plush toys and a good game of tug a war. I am not destructive around the house at all.

My favourite place to sleep is on my large dog bed and/or with my family. I am crate trained during the day and sleep there at night. However, I can be left out of my crate and I am well behaved.

I am a dog that likes water! I have no problems having a bath… it’s fun. I love when the kids in my foster family have bath time, as it is my playtime too.

I know basic commands such as sit, lay, shake-a-paw and come here with hand signals and verbal commands. I am always eager to learn and learn very fast when taught something new. My foster family tells me I would be a good service or companion dog based on my behaviour.

In addition to my friendly disposition, I am in excellent health. I have a shiny coat and bright, expressive soulful eyes that will surely steal your heart.

I am good in the car, however I do sometimes get sick if I have a full tummy. If I can see out the window and it is rolled down this seems to help with my car sickness.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be by your side through thick and thin, I’m your girl. I promise to fill your days with love, laughter, and tail wags. I can’t wait to meet my new family and make unforgettable memories together. Let’s go on adventures and create a lifetime of happiness. Please consider giving me a chance to be a part of your loving home. Woof woof!

Love, Sissy ❤️
