Hello! My name is
Rosie *adopted!*
Rescue Story
Rosie came to GEARS from a partner community and is now ready to find her forever home!
My Bio
Hi!!! I’m Rosie. It looks like the time has come for me to find my forever home❤️. Did you know? I’m one of the sweetest black pups you will meet. I began my life outside, with my mom and siblings. These caring people at GEARS made sure I found a warm and cozy place to stay after that. I have been told that I was the runt of the litter but you wouldn’t guess it with my big, webbed paws.
I absolutely love my foster mom, foster siblings and resident dogs. I like to be with them all the time but if my humans go out I have accepted that the safest place for me is my crate! I know how to come when called when off-leash, can stay and wait for my dinner and quickly learned that sitting or lying down frequently results in a yummy treat😋. My favourite time of day is probably meal time or walking time. I am used to being walked with a leash or with my harness on. Both are okay, but I do enjoy carrying part of my leash if you let me. I will also let you know if I see another dog with a curious, howl like bark. This is something that can be worked on with treats. Daily exercise is a must and then I am the best pup ever.
My foster mom said I was a little stubborn with being house trained but who can blame me? Going outside to do my business when it’s freezing is annoying! I’ve turned the corner now and will whine at the door if I have to go outside. Remembering to establish a routine for me is helpful as I am pretty predictable.
For fun, I love to play tug of war, ball, wrestle with other dogs, be silly with the teenagers in my house and lie next to my foster mom. I am happy to sleep on the couch but don’t insist on it. When it’s bedtime, I prefer sleeping in my human’s room on a blanket on the floor. I also love hitting a ball around with my paws, carrying things in my mouth and when I get the zoomies it’s fun to run circles around the kitchen island (hee hee).
My foster mom says I’m super smart and I have NEVER chewed on any furniture, which she thinks is impressive. I do love to grab toilet paper rolls and unroll them or chew them, so make sure you shut your bathroom doors if you don’t like my game. I also have a very good nose, so now how to give you those “puppy eyes” when you are eating human food. I’m still growing but my mom thinks I will continue to be lean, silky, soft and beautiful. Maybe you think I could fit in with your life?
Love, Rosie
