Rescue Story:

Marshall was brought into GEARS from Swan Hills as a teeny puppy. He was adopted out, but unfortunately returned to us because he needed to learn how to interact better with other dogs. Since he’s been back in our care, Marshall has done well in foster homes with both dogs and cats after he has a chance to settle in.

Marshall’s Bio:

Hi there, I’m Marshall! If you’re looking for a new best friend, that’s me! I want you to know, I will love you more than anyone else ever will. I will prove this with all the kisses and cuddles you can handle.
I might even jump up to give you those kisses after your long day of work. I would love it if you used positive reinforcement to remind me to keep all my paws on the ground while greeting you. (I’m working on that already, but I just get so excited about the potential for more pets!) I can also get excited around new animals, but once we get to know each other, they’ll love me just as much as you do. My foster family wants you to know, that I’m not alway so excited. In fact, I am an expert napper which has earned me the nickname “Marsh-Mellow" (I don’t get it, but it makes them laugh).
Not to brag, but I’ve got straight A’s across the board – I know every trick I’ve been taught (sit, lay down, stay, shake a paw). I know how to use the outdoor toilet, I’m very good at coming when called and I am always looking for new things to add to my resume. However, I’ve been told I don’t have the best manners when meeting other dogs on leashes. I would love for us to take some classes to help me learn how to make the best first impression.
I love being told I’m a “good boy” and seeing you happy makes me want to try harder! Sometimes, I try too hard, like when I protect you from monsters – or at least what I think are monsters (but is usually just the neighbours). This means that my vocal talents can sometimes be used to scare them away. If you have a better way to help me cope with unexpected noises, please teach me, cause I love to learn!
Most of all, though, I just want to find a home where I can show you how much I love you, and where you have the patience to teach me how to best do that!
Let’s setup a meeting, so I can charm you and any of your furry friends.
